We are over at House No 938 in RK Puram, New Delhi. If you know this part of Delhi, you know it’s mostly government houses and wide streets with plenty of trees. Our office is basically a house that we use for our daily work. It doesn't look like a big firm's headquarters from the outside at all; it just looks like another home in the block. We have a small yard in the front where a few of us park our scooters or cycles. Inside, the rooms are filled with desks and tall cupboards full of old records and files. The air conditioning is a total lifesaver during those brutal Delhi summers, though the units can be a bit noisy when they're running full blast. We get here in the morning, usually complaining about the heat or the traffic on the Ring Road. There is no formal dress code or anything like that; we just wear what is comfortable and get to work. Most of our day is spent at the computers or talking to people on the phone. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a sleek office design or modern art. It is a bit messy at times, with papers everywhere and boxes stacked in the corners, but we know where everything is. We take a proper lunch break and sometimes walk down to the local market to get some fresh food. It’s a simple, straightforward way to spend the workday.
