Prem Electronics

Out here in Budh Vihar Phase 1, specifically at J-2/7, you’ll find us surrounded by wires and old circuit boards. Prem Electronics is where I spend most of my waking hours. It’s a small shop, but we pack a lot into it. People bring in their old televisions that have stopped showing pictures or remote controls that the kids dropped. Sometimes it’s a microwave that won't heat up. I grew up around these things, so I know my way around a soldering iron. The shelves are a bit messy with components and spare parts we’ve kept over the years. You never know when an old capacitor might come in handy for a repair. The neighborhood is quiet during the day but picks up in the evening. That’s when most people drop off their gadgets on their way home from work. I usually have a radio playing in the background while I work. My neighbors often pop their heads in just to say hello or ask about a light fixture. It’s a local life. We don’t have a big staff, just me and my brother helping out when things get backed up. We don’t do anything fancy, just fix what’s broken so people don’t have to buy new stuff all the time. It feels good when an old machine starts working again after a bit of tinkering. It’s just a simple life in a small corner.
