Prashant Jain

My name is Prashant Jain and you can find me at Tis Hazari, in room number 214. It’s an old place with a lot of history and even more paper. If you’ve ever been to Tis Hazari, you know how it is—crowded, noisy, and full of people in black coats. My room is small and packed with files from floor to ceiling. There isn't much space to move around once a couple of people are inside. I’ve been working from this spot for years and I know every corner of this building. The fans hum all day long to keep the air moving. Most of my day is spent reading through documents or talking to people who stop by with questions. It’s not the kind of place that looks polished or modern. It is just a workspace where things get done. Outside in the corridors, there is always someone shouting or rushing to a hearing. I like the energy of the place even if it gets exhausting by the end of the week. I don’t have a big staff, just me handling the bulk of the work. Sometimes I have to search through a lot of folders to find one specific sheet of paper. It’s a manual process and it takes time. But that is just how things work here at room 214. It’s a practical, no-frills environment for the kind of work I do every day in this part of Delhi.
