Working out of Azad Market in Delhi is always an experience. We’re located near the G P O area, specifically at number 4014. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know how packed and energetic it is. Our space is usually filled to the ceiling with rolls of foam, cushions, and various fabrics. It smells like new materials and dust most of the time. We spend our days cutting foam to size, helping people pick out what’s comfortable for their chairs or beds, and loading up delivery rickshaws. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside the shop sometimes because we try to keep a lot of stock on hand. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t mind the noise of the market outside. Sometimes we’re so busy we barely have time to sit down, but other times we just lean against the foam rolls and chat with the other shopkeepers. We aren't some big furniture showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a practical place where you get what you need for a decent price. We handle the heavy lifting and the dusty work so our customers don't have to. Azad Market has a rhythm of its own, and we’ve been a small part of it for quite a while now. Just a bunch of guys working with foam and fabric every day, trying to stay busy.
