Prakash Cotton Store

I run Prakash Cotton Store at shop number 909 in Baba Faridpuri, over in Patel Nagar West. It is a small shop, but we pack it full of whatever stock we have at the time. I’ve been behind this counter for years. Most of my customers are people from the neighborhood who have been coming here since they were young. The shelves are high and sometimes it’s hard to reach the stuff at the top without a ladder. It gets a bit dusty in here because of the fabric, but that’s normal for a cotton shop. I don’t have a website or anything like that. People just walk in when they see the door open. I usually open up around ten in the morning and stay until late evening. Some days it is very quiet and I just sit and read the paper, and other days it is so crowded you can barely move. Patel Nagar West is a busy area, so there is always something happening outside the shop. I try to keep my prices fair so people keep coming back. I know most of my regulars by name and we usually chat for a bit before they buy anything. It’s a simple way to make a living and I’m used to the routine. There isn't any fancy marketing here, just rolls of cloth and me doing my best to help customers.
