Peare Lal Sada Nand

Our shop, Peare Lal Sada Nand, is located right in the middle of the Cycle Market at 446 Esplanade Road. If you’ve ever been to Chandni Chowk, you know how crowded it gets with all the rickshaws and people moving about. We’ve been here at this same spot for quite some time now. It’s a small space, packed with stock from floor to ceiling, but we know where everything is kept even if it looks a bit cluttered to an outsider. Most days start early here because the deliveries arrive before the narrow lanes get too blocked up. We deal with various cycle parts and things like that. It’s noisy outside with all the shouting and bells ringing, but inside we just focus on the orders. Sometimes the tea man comes around and we take a quick break. We don’t really do much advertising or anything, people just find us by word of mouth or by walking past while they’re looking for parts. The building is old, like most things in this part of Delhi, and the stairs are a bit steep. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can, but sometimes the traffic outside makes things slow down. It’s just the way life is in the market. We are usually here until late evening finishing up the books and getting things ready for the next morning.
