We are located at P 59 in Chanakya Palace, which is right in the Uttam Nagar area. Our shop is mostly just a collection of things people didn't want anymore. You’ll find old newspapers stacked high, plastic bottles in big bags, and bits of copper wire all over the place. It’s a small operation, and most of the time it’s just me and a couple of helpers trying to keep the piles from falling over. The street outside is always busy with people going to the market, so we have to be careful not to let our stuff spill out too far onto the road. We use a hand-pulled cart to collect things from the nearby houses, and then we bring it all back here to sort through it. It’s a bit of a mess, but there’s a system to where everything goes. We don't have any computers or fancy equipment; we just use an old manual scale and a notebook to keep track of things. The neighborhood can be noisy, but we’re used to it. Sometimes we find something interesting in the trash, but mostly it’s just the same old stuff every day. We open early in the morning and stay until the last cart comes back in the evening. It’s just a simple life of collecting and sorting what others throw away. We don't try to make it sound like anything else. It’s just a scrapyard in a crowded part of Delhi.
