P S Batteries & Invertors

Our shop is tucked away in Budhella Market at WZ-39 in Vikaspuri. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because batteries take up a lot of room. They're heavy and stacked up along the walls. We've been here for years, dealing with power cuts and people looking for backup systems. When the electricity goes out in the summer, the shop gets really busy. People come in worried about their food spoiling or not being able to sleep without a fan. We move things around to make space for the new stock that comes in every week. It’s dusty work handling these heavy units. The floor has marks from where we drag the old batteries out. Most of our days are spent checking voltages or topping up distilled water for customers who bring their units back. We don't have a lot of extra space for a waiting area, so people usually just stand by the counter while we work. Budhella is a local market, so we see the same faces all the time. Sometimes the neighbor comes over for tea while we're waiting for a delivery truck to arrive. It's a simple business. We keep the shutters up from morning until late at night. There's always a smell of lead and plastic, which we don't even notice anymore. The walls are painted a dull grey which hides the dirt from the boxes. We have a small desk where we keep our logbook and a very old calculator. It’s just how we do things.
