Orient Auto & Electronic Machine

Our place is at Mayapuri Industrial Area Ph-1 WH-86, which is right in the heart of all the heavy metal action in Delhi. Orient Auto & Electronic Machine is basically a workshop where we deal with all kinds of mechanical and electronic stuff. It is usually quite loud because of the welding and the grinders going off in the neighboring units. Our floor is covered in metal shavings most of the time, and we have to sweep it up every evening. We have some pretty old machines that still work better than the new ones, and we take good care of them. The air always smells a bit like burnt oil and ozone, which you get used to after a week of working here. We don’t really have a formal reception area or anything. If you come to WH-86, you just walk in and find one of us near the back. We do a lot of repairs and sometimes we build parts from scratch if we can't find them anywhere else. It’s a lot of trial and error sometimes, but we usually figure it out. The guys here have been working together for a long time, so we don't need to say much to get the job done. We just share some tea in the afternoon and keep the machines running. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, but there is something satisfying about fixing a machine that everyone else said was trash. We just keep doing our thing here in Mayapuri. It's what we do here.
