Our place is over in Paharganj on Raj Guru Road, right there in Chuna Mandi at 2171-72. It’s a hectic part of town, always crowded with people and rickshaws. The shop is narrow and the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. We have stacks of vinyl records everywhere, and honestly, sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what you’re looking for without digging through a few boxes first. The air smells a bit like old paper and dust, which is pretty common for these kinds of things. We don't have a computer system to track everything, so we just remember where things are mostly kept. It can get quite hot inside during the afternoons, so we keep the fan running at full speed. Sometimes the light flickers if the wiring is acting up, but we’re used to it. People wander in from the street, sometimes just to escape the noise outside for a few minutes. We have an old player in the corner that we use to check the condition of the discs. It’s not a polished store with glass displays. It’s more of a place where you might get a bit of dust on your fingers while searching. We’ve been at this spot for years and the street hasn't changed much. It’s just us and the records, day in and day out, sitting in the middle of Paharganj. It’s a slow business but we enjoy the music and the people who come to visit our little corner.
