Old Scraps

You can find us over at J 4 in Chanakya Place, which is part of Janakpuri. The name of the place is Old Scraps, and that’s pretty much exactly what we deal with. We take in things that people don't want anymore and try to make sense of the pile. It’s a messy business, to be honest. There’s always bits of metal and old parts lying around. It’s not the kind of place you’d go if you’re wearing your best clothes. We started this because there’s always a need to clear things out. We don’t have a big mission statement or anything fancy like that. We just open the gate in the morning and see what people bring in. Sometimes it’s a lot, sometimes it’s just a few scraps. We weigh things, sort them, and move them along. It’s physical work and your hands get dirty within the first five minutes of the day. But we like it here in Janakpuri. The neighbors are used to us by now. We try not to make too much noise, but it’s a scrap yard, so some banging around is bound to happen. If you’ve got something taking up space, you know where to find Old Scraps. We’re at J 4 Chanakya Place. Just a simple yard with a lot of history in those piles of metal. We just do our thing and stay out of trouble. I’ve always thought there was something interesting about old things.
