Our shop is right there in the Central Market of Ashok Vihar Phase-1, at 11/1. If you know the market, you know it gets quite busy especially in the evenings when everyone is out. We have been here for a good bit of time now, working with batteries and power systems. The shop is full of heavy units and cables. It’s not the quietest place to work because we are often testing things or moving heavy stock around on the floor. You can hear the hum of the equipment sometimes. We spend a lot of time talking to neighbors who come in when their power goes out at home. The walls are lined with different sizes of inverters. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, and we usually have to move things carefully so we don't scratch the floor. We drink tea from the stall next door while we wait for deliveries to arrive. Sometimes the trucks can't find the spot in the market because it's so crowded. We have a small desk where we keep our logbooks and receipts. Everything is handwritten mostly. It’s a straightforward business where we just show people what we have in stock and tell them how it works. We don't use fancy displays or lights, just the regular shop setup. It's about being here when the lights go out and someone needs a backup fast. We stay open late during the summer months when the power cuts are at their worst in the city.
