New Unique Furniture

If you come down to East Of Kailash, specifically over at Ramesh Market 196 23 24, you’ll find us. We’re the ones with the smell of cut wood and polish coming out the door. New Unique Furniture isn't a big showroom with bright lights. It’s mostly a workshop where we spend our time making things. We have sawdust on the floor and tools hanging on the walls. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, but we just open the big doors and let the breeze in from the market. We’ve been here for years, and most of the people who come in are neighbors or folks who’ve heard about us from their family. We don't use a lot of fancy machinery; it's mostly hammers, saws, and our own hands. Every piece we make has its own little quirks because we aren't a factory. Sometimes a drawer might stick a tiny bit or the grain of the wood looks different than expected, but that's just how real wood is. We spend a lot of time just talking to people about what they need for their homes. We don't have a catalog or anything like that. We just draw it out on a scrap of paper and get started. It's a bit messy, and there’s always something to sweep up, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The market is always loud, and that's just part of our day. We like the work.
