Navrattan Batteries

Arjun Nagar 100 is where we keep the shop running. Navrattan Batteries isn't a place where you’ll find a lot of shiny decorations. It’s mostly just rows of batteries, some new and some that people brought in because they finally gave up. Working with batteries is heavy work, literally. Your hands get dirty and you’re constantly moving things around to make space. We’ve been in Arjun Nagar for a while, and most people around here know us just as the guys who deal with the power cells. When someone’s car won't start or their backup system at home fails, they wander in here looking a bit stressed out. We don’t have a script or a fancy way of talking to people. We just check the voltage, see if it can be saved, or tell them if they need a new one. The shop at number 100 has a certain smell to it, that sharp metallic scent of lead and acid, but we don’t even notice it anymore. It’s just part of the job. Some afternoons get really quiet and we just sit on the stools out front and watch the bikes go by. It’s a steady kind of life. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We just know batteries, and we stay here in Arjun Nagar doing the same thing every day because that’s what we know how to do best without making a big fuss about it.
