National Housing Bank

Our office is over at C 103 in the M S Apartment building. It’s right on Kasturba Gandhi Marg. If you know New Delhi, you know it gets pretty busy around here. We’re right in the middle of all the noise and traffic. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, but still full of papers and people talking about houses. We deal with the stuff that happens behind the scenes of home building and loans. It isn't a flashy bank with gold doors. It’s just a regular apartment converted into an office space. We have files stacked up on almost every surface. Most of us have worked here for years. We know the 110 001 area like the back of our hands. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at documents. It’s a lot of details to keep track of. Sometimes the tea lady comes around and that’s the highlight of the afternoon. We don’t have a big PR team writing things for us. We just handle the work as it comes in. People come to us when they need to figure out housing stuff. It can be a bit slow with all the rules we have to follow, but we get there in the end. It’s just how things work in a place like this. We are just trying to keep the housing side of things moving along without too much trouble.
