National Council Of Applied Economic Research New Delhi

Our office is located at Parisila Bhawan, right in the 11 Ip Estate area of New Delhi. It is an old building but it has its charm, being right in the middle of all the action in the city. Most of us here spend our time looking at numbers and data about the economy. It sounds a bit dry, but when you are actually doing the work, it gets interesting to see how things connect. We’ve got shelves full of books and files that have been around for years. People come in and out for meetings all the time, mostly talking about research projects or new surveys we are running. It is a busy place, but we take our tea breaks seriously to clear our heads. The location in Ip Estate is pretty convenient for getting around the city, even if the parking is a bit of a nightmare sometimes. We aren't trying to be fancy here, just a group of people working on applied economics. Every day is a bit different depending on what study is currently on the table. We get researchers and students dropping by, and there is always someone typing away at a computer or arguing about a graph. It’s just how we function in this little corner of Delhi. We keep our heads down and try to get the facts right.
