Monga Plastics

Out here in Nangloi, things are pretty industrial. We are located at J-23 in Udyog Nagar, right off the Rohtak Road. It’s a lot of trucks and heavy vehicles moving around all day, so it’s never really quiet. We deal with plastics, mostly bulk stuff that gets moved around on pallets. The floor is concrete and there’s always a bit of a smell of raw materials in the air, but you get used to it after an hour. I spend a lot of my time checking the shipments that come in and making sure the counts are right. It’s a dusty place because of all the construction nearby. We have a small office area boxed off where the paperwork stays, though it’s usually covered in files and old notebooks. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which is the highlight for most of us working here. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s a workspace where things get done. We have machines running in the back that make a steady humming noise all day long. Sometimes the delivery drivers get lost looking for the J block, so I spend a lot of time on the phone giving directions from the main road. It’s a tough area to navigate if you aren’t from around here. We just keep the doors open and keep moving the stock out. The sun hits the metal roof in the summer and it gets quite stuffy inside.
