Mohender Kumar

I’ve been at number 30 Tis Hazari Main Road for quite a few years now. Most days start the same way with the traffic outside and the sound of people heading toward the courts. My space isn't very large but it fits everything I need to get the day's work done. There is a lot of paper around most of the time. People often stop by just because they are in the neighborhood or they have something specific they need to talk about. It gets pretty loud during the middle of the day when the sun is up and the street is full of cars honking. I usually have a cup of tea around eleven o'clock when things settle into a rhythm. The walls are a bit old and maybe could use some paint but it feels like home to me. I know the people in the shops next door and we usually nod to each other in the mornings. It is just a regular place where work happens. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit but we just wait it out. Life moves along on this road. I keep my desk organized even if the rest of the room looks a bit crowded to an outsider. It’s just how things are here at Mohender Kumar. We don’t do anything fancy, just the tasks that come across the desk each morning until it's time to head home. I usually lock up around six and walk to the station.
