Mohammad Sajid

Over here at Durga Park Rz 160 1, Mohammad Sajid runs things in a way that’s pretty straightforward. This part of the neighborhood is always humming with people moving around. Our space is tucked away in a spot that’s easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. We’ve been in this building for several years now. It’s got a heavy iron gate that squeaks every time someone opens it, which we keep meaning to oil but never get around to doing. Inside, it’s mostly just boxes and some basic furniture we’ve had since the beginning. We don't have any big advertisements or flashy lights outside. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they live just down the street. The light in the back room is a bit dim, so we do most of our writing near the front window where the sun comes in. It can get a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once, but we manage. Sometimes the water delivery is late and we have to go down the block to get some for ourselves. It’s just how things go. We don't try to be something we’re not. We just show up, open the shutters, and see what the day brings. It’s a lot of repetitive tasks, but it’s honest work and it keeps the lights on. We like being part of the local scene here and seeing the neighborhood grow.
