We sit here in Phase 2 of Najafgarh, mostly dealing with files and the daily commute through the New Delhi traffic. It is quite a dusty area especially when the wind picks up in the afternoon. Most days start with someone trying to fix the cooling unit because it makes a loud rattling sound that drives us crazy. Our office isn't anything fancy. It is just a bunch of desks and chairs pushed together where we look over papers all day long. Sometimes people from the neighborhood pop in asking for directions because the street signs around here aren't the best. We have a small tea stall just down the road where everyone gathers around eleven to talk about nothing in particular. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint but we haven't gotten around to it yet. Working here feels like being part of the local scenery now. We see the same faces passing by the window every morning. The internet goes out sometimes and we just sit there waiting for it to come back so we can finish the logs. It is a lot of routine stuff like making sure the records are in the right folders. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the piles of paper get a bit out of hand. It is just how things go in a busy spot like this one in 110043. We mostly just focus on getting the work done and heading home before the evening rush starts.
