Metrawatt Eletronics is tucked away in Mangla Market, inside the Bhagirath Palace area at 1681/32. If you’ve ever been to Bhagirath Palace, you know how packed and chaotic it is with wires and lights everywhere. Our shop is small, and every inch of the shelves is filled with electronic components, meters, and testing tools. It’s been this way since we moved in. It’s hard to keep things organized when new stock comes in every week, so there are boxes stacked in the corners. I spend most of my day behind the counter, talking to electricians and contractors who know exactly what part number they want. We don’t do much fancy talk here. If we have the part, we sell it; if not, I try to tell them where else in the market they might find it. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit, and the light flickers sometimes, but it’s home for us. People come here because they know we’ve been in this spot for years. The tea stall guy next door brings us chai twice a day, and that’s when we usually take a break. It’s a lot of manual work, checking invoices and testing units before they go out. Navigating the narrow lanes to reach 1681/32 is a bit of a challenge for new people, but once you find us, you’ll see we just focus on the hardware. It’s just honest electronics trade in a busy market.
