Manoj Gorkela

If you go to Patiala House Courts, look for chamber 140. That is where I spend most of my time. My name is Manoj Gorkela, and this is my workplace. It’s a small space, mostly filled with folders, books, and heaps of paper. The court is a busy place, always a bit loud and crowded with people rushing around. Inside 140, it’s a bit quieter, but not by much. There is usually a line of things to do and people to see. I’ve been working from this address for quite a while. It’s a practical setup. I don't have a big receptionist or a waiting room with fancy coffee. It’s just a desk and some chairs for whoever needs to sit down and talk. Sometimes the stacks of files get a little out of hand, and I have to spend a Sunday just organizing things. Dealing with the court system means being here early and staying late most days. It’s a tiring job, but it’s what I know. I don’t put out big advertisements or anything. People mostly find me by word of mouth or by just looking for the number on the door at Patiala House. I try to stay focused on the tasks at hand. It’s a very direct way of working. There isn't much room for fluff when you’re in the middle of all this legal work. I just keep my head down and work.
