Madhyam

Working out of Pink Apartments in New Delhi is an interesting experience. Our place, Madhyam, is at number 273. Since it’s an apartment building, it doesn't feel like a typical office at all. You walk through the main gates and past the security guard, and it feels like you're just going home. But inside, we’ve turned the space into our workspace. It’s a bit crowded with all the files and the computers, and sometimes we have to move chairs around just to get to the balcony. The view from 273 isn't anything special, just the other blocks of the complex and some trees, but it’s nice to have a bit of green. Being in New Delhi, the weather is either too hot or too cold, so we’re always messing with the heater or the cooler. We aren't some big agency with a lobby. It’s just a few of us sitting around a table most of the time. We get our mail delivered to the ground floor, and the delivery guys always get a bit confused finding our block. It’s a quiet enough place to think, which is what we need. The kitchen is always full of empty cups because nobody wants to do the washing up until the end of the day. It’s a bit disorganized, to be honest, but we know where everything is. It’s a real place for real work and we've been here for quite some time now. We like the quiet.
