The office is tucked away on the second floor of a DDA flat in Kalkaji Extension. If you know Delhi, you know how these blocks are. It gets pretty busy around here, especially in the afternoons when everyone is out and about. We handle a lot of export stuff from this small space. There are usually boxes stacked up near the door and papers all over the desks. It’s not the kind of place you see in a fancy magazine, but it works for what we do. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing away on old computers. The walk up to the second floor keeps us active, I guess. Kalkaji has a certain energy to it that you don’t get in other parts of New Delhi. We've been here for a good amount of time now, and the routine is pretty much the same every day. We get the shipments coordinated, talk to the vendors, and try to make sure everything leaves on time. In the summer, the air conditioning struggles a bit, so we drink a lot of cold water and just push through the heat. It’s a group of us who have worked together for a long time, so we’re more like a family than anything else. We don’t really do big meetings or fancy presentations. We just sit down, look at what needs to be shipped, and get to it. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy.
