Down on the Bijwasan Main Road, we’ve got this small electronics shop. It’s nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, we have some televisions and smaller appliances. Most of what we do is basic repairs for the people living nearby. Someone's remote stops working or their fan starts making a weird noise, and they bring it to us. We have a workbench in the back with a lot of wires and old circuit boards. It’s always a bit cluttered. We’ve been here for a good while now. The main road can be very loud with all the buses going by, but we’re used to it. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just see the sign when they're passing. We spend our mornings opening up the shutters and dusting the displays. It gets very dusty here. Sometimes we go to people's houses to look at their fridges if they can't bring them in. It’s just me and a helper most days. We try to be fair with the prices because we know everyone in the neighborhood. We aren't looking to become a giant chain. We just like running our own small shop on the corner. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to sit out front and wait for it to come back. We talk to the shopkeeper next door during those breaks. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We handle the tools and the screws and try to fix things so they last a bit longer.
