Our shop is tucked away in Paharganj, over in Chuna Mandi. If you know this area, you know how crowded it gets. There is always someone shouting or a rickshaw trying to squeeze past. We have been at this 2152/1 spot for a long time. It’s not a big place, but we pack a lot of stuff inside. Most of the day is spent talking to people who walk in and out, asking for this or that. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit there in the dark waiting for it to come back. We keep things pretty straightforward. There are no fancy decorations on the walls. It’s just shelves and boxes. Dealing with the suppliers can be a headache sometimes, especially when the trucks can't get through the narrow lanes. We drink a lot of tea while we wait. The floor is old and the walls could use some paint, but it works for us. My nephew helps out sometimes when it gets really busy. We don’t do much advertising. People usually find us because they were walking by or a friend told them where we are. It is loud here from morning until night, but you get used to the noise after a few years. We just open the shutters, do our work, and head home when the sun goes down.
