Katyani Law Firm is situated near the Delhi GPO. It’s a busy part of the city to be in. Being so close to the main post office means there is always a lot of movement outside our doors. Our office is filled with thick books and stacks of legal files that seem to grow every single week. We spend a lot of our time reading through documents and drinking tea while we discuss different cases. The noise from the Delhi streets is a constant background sound here, but we’ve grown used to it over time. It’s not a polished, high-rise law office like you see on television. It’s more of a practical place where we get into the details of the law for the people who come to see us. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but we just keep going. We handle a lot of the standard legal stuff that regular people need help with. The desks are covered in pens and highlighters, and there is always a bit of a rush to get to the courts on time. We don't have any big mission statements on the walls, just some old calendars and maybe a few photos. It’s a place where we work hard and try to stay on top of the endless paperwork that comes with legal work in a big city like Delhi.
