JMD Poly Prints is on the ground floor of F-32/6 in Phase 2 of the Okhla Industrial Estate. Being in an industrial area means it is always noisy with the sound of machines from the surrounding buildings. Our own printing machines have a steady rhythm that we have grown used to over the years. The air always has a slight scent of ink and chemicals. We have large tables for cutting and sorting the printed materials. Most of the floor space is taken up by rolls of material and finished stacks of work ready to go out. The lighting is very bright because we need to check the colors and the quality of the prints. It is a ground floor unit, which makes it easier for loading the delivery vans that park right outside. We don't have much of a reception area, just a small desk near the door where we take orders and sign for deliveries. Sometimes we are working late into the night to finish a big batch. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the long shifts. The Okhla area is always moving, with people and vehicles everywhere. We just focus on the machines and the orders we have for the day. It is a lot of standing and moving around, but that is the job. We have been in this spot for a long time and the machines keep on running through it all.
