Jinendra Jain

Working out of Patiala House Courts, specifically at number 260, is always an experience. It’s a place that never really stays quiet. Jinendra Jain has been handling matters here for quite a while now. If you've ever been to the courts in Delhi, you know how it is—lots of people, lawyers in black coats everywhere, and a lot of waiting around. Our space is small but it gets the job done. It’s mostly filled with law books and folders from various cases. We spend a lot of time walking between the office and the courtrooms. It’s a lot of legwork. The tea stalls nearby are where most of the actual talking happens. We don't have a fancy reception desk or anything like that. You usually just find us buried under some documents or talking to a client in the hallway. The legal system moves slow, and we spend a lot of our day just keeping track of dates and filings. It’s not like what you see on TV. It’s mostly just reading, writing, and making sure all the stamps are in the right place. We see all kinds of people here, each with their own story. It can be stressful, but it's also interesting. We just try to stay focused on the work at hand and get through the daily cause list without too much trouble. It's about being here and doing the work, day after day until the job is finished.
