Working at 573 Tilak Marg puts Jasvinder Kaur right in the middle of all the noise and action near Patiala House. If you know Connaught Place, you know how busy this area gets, especially with the courts right there. The office isn't anything fancy to look at, just a practical space where we spend most of our waking hours. There are always people rushing around outside with stacks of papers and black coats, so it stays pretty loud throughout the afternoon. We have been at this location for a good while, and honestly, the walls could probably tell a lot of stories if they could talk. The morning starts with clearing off the dust that seems to settle overnight and getting the computer started up. It’s a lot of sitting and talking to people who come in looking for help with their paperwork. Sometimes the tea stall guy forgets our order, or the traffic on Tilak Marg makes it impossible for anyone to arrive on time. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to polish up how we look to the world. It is just me and a couple of others trying to stay organized in the middle of the Delhi chaos. We have a small window that lets in a bit of light, but mostly we are focused on the stacks of files on the table. It is honest work, and even though the pace is fast, we have gotten used to the rhythm of this neighborhood over the years.
