Jasbir Singh Malik

Working at 111 Parliament Street puts me right in the heart of everything. I’m Jasbir Singh Malik and my office is in this very busy part of the city. You can hear the sirens and the bustle of the crowds all day long from here. It’s a prestigious-sounding address but the reality inside is much more grounded. It’s just a regular office with desks, chairs, and a lot of paper. I spend most of my time on the phone or responding to emails. The commute can be a bit of a grind because of the central location but I’ve grown fond of the pace. I don't have a marketing department or a fancy website that makes grand promises. I just do my job and hope that people appreciate the effort. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up and we have to take the stairs which isn't fun in the heat. There’s a small tea stall nearby where I get my afternoon fix and that’s usually the highlight of my day. Most of my clients are regular people who have been coming to me for years. We talk about the news and the weather before we get down to business. It’s a very straightforward way of working. I don’t see the need for all the corporate polish that you see in some of the other offices around Parliament Street. I’m happy just keeping things simple and keeping the work moving forward every day.
