We’re based on the first floor at C 112 B in Kalkaji, New Delhi. It’s a pretty typical South Delhi neighborhood. Our office is focused on water management, which sounds very official, but really we’re just a group of people looking at how water gets used and saved. It’s an important thing to think about, especially in a city like this. The office isn't very large. We have a lot of reports stacked on the shelves and maps of different regions pinned to the walls. We spend a lot of time on research and looking at data. It’s not the kind of place with a fancy reception desk or people in suits. We’re usually dressed casually, just working through our notes. Kalkaji is a lively place to be. There’s a lot of traffic and people around all the time. Sometimes we go downstairs to the local market for tea or a quick snack. We’ve been in this building for some time now, and we’ve gotten to know the other people on the different floors. We don't make big claims about what we do. It’s just about gathering information and trying to understand the water situation better. Sometimes the work feels slow, especially when we’re waiting on new data to come in, but we keep at it. It’s a small team, and we all know our roles. We just do our bit from this little corner of Kalkaji.
