Interior Decoration

Working in Kirti Nagar means being surrounded by furniture and decor shops as far as you can see. Our little spot is at 62 11, and it’s nothing fancy. Interior Decoration is just the name on the door, but inside it’s mostly just me and a few tools. I’ve spent years here, seeing the same delivery drivers go past every morning. The walls in the shop could probably use a fresh coat of paint, ironically enough. We have stacks of fabric books and rolls of wallpaper leaning against the corners. It gets a bit cramped when more than two people are inside at once. I usually have a radio playing in the background to keep the silence away while I’m measuring things out. People around here know us for being straightforward. We don't have a glossy brochure or a pitch. We just talk about what might look good in your house over a cup of water or chai. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit near the window, but we put a bucket down and keep working. It’s a messy business, dealing with paints and glues all day long, but I like the smell of it. Kirti Nagar is a loud place, but once you step into the shop, it’s just us trying to figure out how to make a room look right. It’s simple work for us, even if it takes a while to get it perfect. We just want the walls to look nice.
