Our office is located right inside Saraswati Apartment in Paschim Vihar. It’s Flat Number 33 in the GH 3 block. It feels more like a home than a bank branch sometimes because we are right there in the middle of a residential complex. You can hear kids playing outside and neighbors talking in the hallway. We have a few desks set up in what used to be a regular living room. It’s a bit tight when more than three people come in at once. We handle a lot of the paperwork for the people living in the apartments here. Most of our day is spent verifying documents and updating the system. Delhi gets really hot in the summer, so the air conditioner is always running, making a bit of a rattling noise. We don’t have a big sign outside, just enough for people to know we are here. The furniture is a bit old, but it does the job. We know most of the residents by their first names and we often hear about their families while they are signing papers. It’s a very local way of working. We don't use big words or have fancy presentations. We just sit at our desks, process the work that comes in, and try to finish before the evening rush starts. It’s a simple operation in a busy part of New Delhi.
