Our office is tucked away in Sangam Vihar at K II 1171 A. If you know New Delhi 62, you know it’s a crowded and lively place. We run our organization from this small spot, focusing on social work and helping out where we can. It’s not a fancy NGO with a lot of funding. We mostly just do what we can with what we have. A lot of the time, we are out in the streets talking to people rather than sitting behind a desk. The building is simple, and we share the space with a lot of files and equipment for our local projects. We don't go in for big speeches or marketing campaigns. We just identify a problem in the local area and see if we can fix it or find someone who can. It’s a lot of coordination and talking to different departments. Sometimes it feels like we aren't making much progress, but we keep at it anyway. The neighbors know us, and they often drop by to tell us about something going on in the block. We don't have a big staff, just a few dedicated people who live nearby. It’s practical, everyday work. We aren't trying to look professional for a board of directors; we’re just trying to be helpful to the folks living in Sangam Vihar. Most days are spent making phone calls and trying to organize small events or help for families.
