Operating out of Mahavir Enclave in New Delhi is always a bit of a challenge because of how crowded Gali No 9 can get. Our office at Rz D3 70 is right in the middle of it all. We handle waste management and urban services, which basically means we spend our time making sure the trash gets moved out of the residential areas. It’s a messy job and there’s always something going wrong with a truck or a route, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work. We aren't a big corporate setup with glass walls; it’s more about stacks of paperwork and people coming in and out in boots. Every day is about trying to stay on top of the piles of refuse that a city like this creates. We know the neighbors and the local shops because we see them every morning when we start our rounds. It’s not the kind of thing you see in a brochure. It’s just us trying to keep the neighborhood from getting buried under its own waste. Sometimes the heat makes the work twice as hard, and other times the rain turns everything into a muddy mess, but the bins still need emptying. We do what we can with the tools we have here in New Delhi. It’s straightforward work that just needs to be done without any fuss or complicated explanations to the people living nearby.
