Iit Delhi

We are located right inside the IIT Delhi campus, specifically tucked away in the Department of Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology. Most people just call it DBEB because the full name is quite a mouthful to say every day. If you are looking for us, we are over with Professor Sreekrishnan’s group. The lab stays pretty busy with people coming in and out at odd hours, and there is usually a faint smell of chemicals or the hum of a machine running in the background. It is not a fancy corporate office by any means. Our desks are piled high with papers, old journals, and half-empty coffee mugs that have been sitting there since yesterday morning. The hallways here are narrow and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. We spend most of our time staring at monitors or checking on experiments that take way longer than they should. Sometimes the mail gets a bit mixed up because the address is so long with all the department details, but it eventually finds its way to our door. We just focus on the work we have in front of us and try to make sense of the data. It is a quiet kind of life here in the engineering block, away from the main city noise of Delhi, and we quite like the routine of it all.
