Down here at 4513 Gali Shatara near Ajmeri Gate, things are always moving. This Icicibank spot is right in the middle of Old Delhi’s chaos. If you’ve ever been to Gali Shatara, you know the lanes are narrow and there are people everywhere. It’s a historic part of town, but it’s also very crowded and loud. Our office doesn't look like those glass-and-steel banks you see in the newer parts of the city. It’s a much more traditional building that fits right into the street. We spend our days helping people who come in from the market or the surrounding neighborhoods. It’s not just about the money; it’s about the constant interaction with the locals. The walls are thick, but you can still hear the scooters and the shouting from outside. We have a small team here and we’ve all gotten used to the cramped space. There isn't much room for anything extra, so every desk is covered in papers and stamps. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes the narrow lanes feel even tighter, but we just keep the air conditioning running as best we can. It is a very practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We don’t have time for a lot of formalities because there is always someone waiting or something that needs to be filed. It’s just how life is at Ajmeri Gate, and we are right in the thick of it.
