If you have ever been to this part of Delhi, you know it is a massive maze of small alleys and thousands of shops packed together. Our place is tucked away, so you really have to look for the stairs or ask someone. Once you get up here, it is much quieter than the noisy street below. We have shelves filled with silk sarees in every single color you can imagine. I spend my days showing the fabric to ladies who are looking for something special for a wedding or a party. It is a lot of talking and drinking tea while we look at the designs. The shop has been in the family for a long time. The wooden floors creak when you walk on them and the lighting could probably be a bit better, but the silk looks beautiful anyway. We don't have a big fancy showroom with mirrors everywhere. It is just a small, crowded room packed with beautiful things. I usually have my nephew helping me out during the busy wedding season.
