Gupta Handicrafts

Gupta Handicrafts is located at Shop Number 1126 in the Chah Rahat area. We are right in Bazar Guliyan, which is a very old and crowded part of Chandni Chowk. To find us, most people look for Dariba Kalan or the Jama Masjid Police Station, which is right across from us. It’s an incredibly busy spot. There are people everywhere, and the noise from the market and the police station sirens can be a lot to handle sometimes. Our shop is quite narrow, but it goes back a long way. We have shelves lining every inch of the walls. It’s a bit dark inside because the buildings are so close together, so we always have the lights on. We spend our days dealing with people walking in from the street and trying to keep the dust off the items. It’s a lot of work just keeping the place running in such a chaotic environment. Chandni Chowk is famous for being busy, and being near Bazar Guliyan means we are right in the thick of it. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who have been working here for years. At Gupta Handicrafts, we don't really have a formal way of doing things. We just open the shutters in the morning and see what the day brings. It’s a very traditional way of running a business in this part of Delhi. We stay late most nights because that's when the market really comes alive.
