Global Ground Water Consultants is over here in Safdarjung Enclave, right in the Humayunpur part of the neighborhood. It’s a busy spot and we have been at this for a while now. Most days are just spent looking at maps or dealing with reports about where the water is sitting underground. It’s not fancy work, mostly just technical stuff and making sure the data makes sense for whoever needs a well or a study done. The office gets a bit cramped when everyone is back from the field at the same time. We usually have papers everywhere and the tea kettle is always going. Delhi heat makes the site visits pretty tough during the summer, but that is just how it is. We deal with a lot of different people, from builders to regular folks who just want to know if they can get water on their land. It takes a lot of patience to get the readings right. Sometimes the machines act up or the ground doesn't cooperate like the charts said it would. We just keep at it until the job is finished. There’s no big corporate vibe here, just a bunch of us trying to get through the daily list of tasks. We know the local area well enough. If you walk past the main market, you can find us tucked away near the usual shops. It's just a regular workplace doing what we know how to do, which is groundwater.
