Ghaffar Abdul Khan

You can find me over near the Jama Masjid, specifically in the Churi Walan area at C 3757. This part of the city is always crowded and noisy, but that is just how things are around here. I have been working from this spot for a long time. It’s a small space, packed with whatever needs doing that day. Being so close to the mosque means there is always a lot of foot traffic and people moving about. I usually start the morning by opening up the shutters and seeing what the day brings. Most of the people who stop by are locals or people who have known me for years. We don't have a big sign or any of that modern advertising. Word of mouth is usually how people find their way to my door. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, honestly. Some days are slow and I just sit and watch the street, and other days I don't even have time to drink my tea because there is so much to handle. I try to keep things simple and honest. If I can help with something, I do. If I can't, I’ll tell you who might be able to. Living and working in this old part of Delhi keeps you busy. The walls here have seen a lot of history, and I am just another part of the daily rhythm in Churi Walan.
