Ganpati Hydraulic & Pnemumatic Industries is situated at D-181, right near the Peera Garhi Chowk and the metro station. If you know that intersection, you know it is one of the busiest and loudest places in the city. Our workshop is always filled with the sounds of the metro overhead and the constant honking from the road. We deal with heavy hydraulics, so the shop is usually pretty greasy and there are metal parts lying everywhere. It is a tough, physical environment where we spend most of our time in overalls with oil on our hands. We don't have a fancy waiting area or air conditioning; we just have benches and the tools we need to get the repairs done. Most of the people who come to us are looking for quick fixes or specific parts for their machinery. We work fast because we know our customers are often losing money while their equipment is down. It gets very hot in the summer with the machines running and the Delhi sun beating down on the shutters. We aren't much for talking unless it’s about the work at hand.
