G B Singh Co operates out of D 36 in South Extension Part I. South Extension Part One is a very busy area of the city, but we have our own quiet rhythm inside the office. We have been at this address for quite some time now. The space inside D 36 is filled with the things we’ve gathered over the years. We have old wooden desks and cabinets that are stuffed with files. It’s not the kind of place that would impress a corporate executive, but it works for us. We have a small area where visitors can sit, though it’s usually covered in some newspapers or mail. There are a few of us working here, and we’ve all known each other for a long time. We don't have any formal meetings or big presentations. We just talk across the room when something needs to be discussed. The traffic in South Ex can be quite something, especially during the rush hour, so we usually hear the horns honking all day. We’ve learned to just ignore it and focus on the work on our desks. We don't have a big brand or a mission statement. We just show up and handle whatever business comes through the door. It’s a very practical way to run a company. We like the fact that people can just come by and find us in the same spot year after year. It’s a simple, no-nonsense kind of place. Most days we are just busy with the usual paperwork and calls.
