You can find us at 342 Chandanwadi in Sector 10. Dwarka is a big place, but we’ve tucked ourselves into this corner for our daily operations. Epch stands for what we do with handicrafts and exports, though we mostly just think of it as our daily job. There are a few of us working here in Delhi, trying to help local artisans get their stuff seen elsewhere. It’s a lot of logistics and talking to different people about shipping and quality. The office is usually cluttered with samples of different items—carvings, textiles, you name it. It’s never really tidy, but we know where everything is. We spend a lot of time on the phone with various government offices. It’s not always easy, and sometimes we get frustrated with the red tape, but that’s just part of it. Sector 10 is a good spot, plenty of places to grab a quick bite when we’re too busy to have a proper lunch. We aren't a giant corporation with thousands of employees. We’re just a small group that knows the handicraft sector inside and out. Some days are slow, while others are a complete scramble to meet a deadline. We don’t have a big mission statement on the wall. We just show up, handle the paperwork for the exporters, and try to keep things moving. It’s honest work and it keeps us connected to the traditional side of India.
