We've been here in the Kareli area of Allahabad for a bit now. Spices are what we do at Eastern Condiments. It is mostly about getting the blends right so people can cook their daily meals without much fuss. Our place at 18 D Karmat Ki Chaukai stays pretty busy most days. We spend a lot of our time sorting through raw materials and making sure everything is clean. Sometimes the weather makes it tough because the humidity affects the grinding, but we manage to get through it. People around here know where to find us if they need something for their kitchen. It isn't anything fancy or corporate. We are just a small team working with ingredients that go into homes all around the city. We get the shipments in, check the quality by hand, and then pack them up into bags. It is hard work and gets a bit dusty sometimes, but it is what we know how to do. My cousin usually helps out with the accounts on the weekends. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. Most folks just hear about us from their neighbors or friends. If you walk past the chaukai, you will probably smell the chili or the turmeric before you even see our sign. We try to keep the shop organized but on busy days, it gets a bit chaotic with the sacks stacked up high. We've been at this address long enough that the postman knows us well.
