Our shop is down Gali No-18 on Parwana Road, over in the B-58 block of Shalimar Bagh. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but that keeps things a little quieter, which we don't mind. Doll Battries is basically what the name says. We have stacks of batteries of all shapes and sizes piled up along the walls. It smells a bit like lead and plastic in here, which is just part of the job. Most of the time, people come in because their car won't start or their inverter at home finally gave up. We spend a lot of time lugging heavy batteries around, so we’re usually a bit tired by the end of the day. The shop floor is concrete and has some stains from old battery acid, and the workbench is pretty cluttered with testers and cables. It’s a working shop, not a showroom. We don’t have fancy lighting or a glass storefront. Most of our day is spent talking to drivers or homeowners who are in a bit of a rush to get their power back. We just do the work, test the units, and get people on their way. It’s been our life for a long time now. We don't use any big words or sales tactics. If a battery is dead, we tell you, and if it just needs a charge, we do that instead. It’s just honest, everyday work in Shalimar Bagh.
