Dhiraj

You can find me over at Patiala House Courts, specifically at number 17. My name is Dhiraj and this is where I spend almost all my time. The courts are always a bit chaotic with people rushing around and a lot of noise. It’s not the kind of place where you get much peace. My desk is usually covered in law books and case files that I'm trying to organize. I deal with people who are going through some pretty stressful times, so I listen a lot. There’s a lot of waiting around in the halls for a turn in front of the judge. It’s part of the life here. I don't have a big staff, it’s mostly just me handling the files and making sure the dates are right. Sometimes I’m here late at night preparing for the next morning. The building has been here forever and you can feel that history when you walk through the doors. It’s a very hands-on job. I spend a lot of time reading through documents and trying to make sense of the latest updates in the law. There’s no fancy office with a view, just a practical space to get the work done. I meet all sorts of people every day, from different walks of life. Some days are longer than others, but that’s just how it is working at the courts. You get used to the fast pace and the endless paperwork. It’s a tough environment but it’s what I know. I just keep moving from one case to the next.
