Daytronics is located at Naraina 86. It’s more of a workspace than a store, really. We have benches covered in soldering irons, multimeters, and piles of circuit boards that need fixing. The air usually smells a bit like burnt solder and old electronics. Naraina is a very busy area with a lot of commercial activity, so there is always noise from the street coming in through the door. We spend most of the day hunched over our desks looking at tiny components through magnifying lamps. It can be hard on the eyes after a few hours. We get all kinds of people dropping off gadgets that have stopped working. Sometimes we can fix them quickly, and other times we have to wait weeks for a specific part to arrive. The shelves are a bit of a mess with old boxes and spare parts that we’ve kept over the years just in case. We don’t really bother with making the place look fancy because that’s not what we are about. We just focus on the boards and the wires in front of us. It’s a practical kind of job. Sometimes we sit out front for a bit to get some fresh air and watch the trucks go by. It’s just a normal day at Naraina 86, trying to make things work again.
