Dayal Darbar

Dayal Darbar is located right in the Vikaspuri Main Market, at A 73. Being in the main market means it’s always crowded and there is always something going on. We are right in the thick of the action. The shop or office—whatever you want to call it—is small but we make the most of the space. There’s barely enough room to move when we have a few visitors at once. We’ve got shelves lining the walls and a counter that’s seen a lot of use. Vikaspuri is a lively area, and being at A 73 puts us right where the people are. We don't have air conditioning that works all that well, so we rely on the breeze when we can get it. It’s a very hands-on place. We don’t spend much time on computers if we can help it. It’s more about talking to people face to face. We’ve been part of this market for a while now, and we know the rhythms of the shoppers and the other vendors. The mornings are for setting things up and the evenings are usually a scramble. It’s not a polished environment. There’s dust and noise and plenty of interruptions. But that’s the way we like it. It feels real. We don't have any corporate slogans. We just open the shutters in the morning and see what the day brings for us.
